This past Monday, 50 Save the Train advocates, including PA State Senators Art Haywood & Nikil Saval, travelled on the 7:25 Amtrak train to Harrisburg. At the state capitol we rallied with Representatives Tarik Kahn, & Stephen Kinsey, advocating for the state too fund safe, reliable public transportation for all of Pennsylvania – and especially for SEPTA.
Volunteers broke up into 10 groups and they succeeded in visiting all 253 state legislators, many of whom!
By the end of the day a huge number of legislators, many of whom went into the voting session sporting our buttons.
However, the fight is not over. We need to get full funding by the June 30th deadline. We will come back in May when the process will speed up and a push to the finish line will be necessary. Maybe you can join us for that trip!
