Recent RCO Meeting for 224-230 W Tulpehocken

On Wednesday, March 15 WCGN hosted an RCO meeting for the purpose of determining community sentiment towards the zoning variance application for 224-30 W. Tulpehocken St, in which the applicant asks to have 15 additional parking spaces perpendicular to—and accessed by—Pastorius St.

The meeting was attended by approximately 160-190 persons. In the hours and days following the meeting, the very important task of assessing each person’s eligibility to vote, and in which group, proved to be very challenging, for a variety of reasons. As a result, we experienced some delays in carrying out the voting.

Results were released on Thursday, March 23, and are as follows:
Near Neighbors:
   Support — 40
   Oppose — 34
  Non-Opposition — 0
Other Neighbors:
   Support — 21
   Oppose — 48
   Non-Opposition — 2
Total Vote:
   Support — 61
   Oppose — 82
   Non-Opposition — 2

WCGN will report this tally to the ZBA. Our report will also note three small discrepancies in the vote.

The ZBA hearing for this appeal will be held via Zoom Wednesday, April 26, at 2:00 PM. For instructions on how to join that meeting, visit www.tinyurl/ZBA_hearing. Anyone may send a letter or an email to the ZBA until Monday, April 24, expressing their opinions about this case. You may email them at rcozba@phila.gov or send a letter to:
